Today was a nice day, so Niles and I pushed the EK out and did some work.

welded/bondo-d/ sanded and primed the old shifter hole:

Decided after all to weld in B-frame support brackets:

Made a new fuel pump mount:

And made brackets to hold down the fuel cell, since the 4 intended sheet aluminium brackets gave me worries:

Today i decided to build the mounts for the brake fluid reservoirs, they are not so small so gave me some trouble to find a good spot. after some measuring and lots of trial fittings, I decided to mount them under the former vent in the top center of the dash, this way they are easily accessible and easily covered and out of sight.

Problem was that the heater didn't leave much room to work with, so decided to mount a bracket onto the heater, which itself is a solid steel cased unit, so this was good:

I had disassembled the heater unit in order to safely weld the bracket onto it, thereafter re-assembled the heater core:

Mounted the heater onto the brackets that we had welded in a while ago:

I had measured out the distances so that the reservoirs would basically be about 2 mm over the welded in crossbrace, luckily this came together nicely:

Now fitted the dash over it:

And nicely covered up:

Today I decided to finish up the work that had to be done underneath the dash.
The pneumatic shift system uses an air compressor and an air tank to make the 40 microsecond shift time even possible, so these needed to be mounted decently and not let go in high G turns.

Made brackets to accomodate the compressor:

Then I made brackets to hold the air tank and K-pro ecu:

Also made brackets to mount the fusebox on the driver side:

And finally trial fitted the rear bumper and taillights:

There weren't enough hours in a day yesterday, so finished up under the dash today by mounting the shifter solenoids:

Also had some steel inserts made yesterday to be able to weld into the chassis and provide solid and decent mounting points for the seatbelts. The seatbelts eyebolts screw into them:

After some studying of the sadev manual that came with the transmission, I decided it would highly benefit from it's own cooler, since it even has it's own integral pump. Then decided this evening to turn thoughts into actual stuff:

nevertheless I changed the setup after we just to be sure and sent a mail to sadev about the pump. Since the sadev manual is translated by a blind man from french to english, we decided to be sure..... answer: an internal pump is a very expensive option....so I re-designed the mounting location and bracket to accomodate an external pump and a new location for the cooler. Pump has been ordered and will take a few days to arrive... the bracket is done....took me 5 hours to build.. painted it to keep from rusting but needs to be welded on to attach the pump. thereafter it will be coated like all other parts..

Decided to make it scoop....the pump will be attached on the driver side of this bracket. We can either make this a constant pumpcircuit (preferred, the gears love to be squirted upon, especially ring and pinion gears) or temperature activated circuit. Either way, the ordered pump can handle the temperatures associated with the transmission...
