(Apologies for the english post - I am still learning Nederlands...)
My name is Colin, I'm from Glasgow in Scotland, and I live in Amsterdam. I moved to the Netherlands about 2 years ago, and brought with me my 2008 Civic Type-R FD2. I've owned the car since about 2011, and it's now registered in NL. I thought I should come and say hello to everyone here!!
The car was imported to the UK from new (by Litchfield Imports), and had the AST Suspension option ordered as well. Later I bought it, and then recently moved it to NL. Since then, the rear suspension has been replaced (as the AST shocks give a terrible ride) and it has a K&N air filter on it. Otherwise, the car is factory stock.
Looking forward to bringing it along to a meet-up soon and get to meet some fellow Type-R enthusiasts
I'd also appreciate it if anyone can give me suggestions for a good garage near Amsterdam who knows import Hondas and can set a car up well - the car needs some suspension work done!
Welcome to our forum. How's your Dutch reading, because most of our posts about meetings and, technical stuff etc. is in Dutch here. If you need any translation, just ask, because most members here are good enough in English and kind enough to help out.
(My dutch reading isn't too bad, and google translate is my friend. I can usually figure out what people are saying!) Will have a look at becoming a member
For good maintenance you could also go to Hontec motorsport in (zeeland Noord-Brabant) it is a drive for like 1 hour, but that guy really knows what he is doing.
And yes I am Jealous, damn what a nice car!
The challenge itself is of sufficient reason to follow your dream!
Welcome here, bringing your FD2 to Holland was a smart move, now please join the club so we can also enjoy one of the few FD2 in Holland. As Lucas wrote, there is a meeting on 6 September in Assen where the new Type R will also be presented. Your FD2 should also be in the paddock!
