WTCC Accord Euro-R James Thompson start in 5th position at Imola.

This morning he set the three fastest time's in the warm-up.

Interesting race at noon

And Mugen Engine's coming for the race in Okayama and Macau

MUGEN PARTICIPATION IN THE FIA WORLD TOURING
CAR CHAMPIONSHIP (WTCC)
Following the existing co-operation with JAS Motorsport, renowned HONDA Touring Car
preparation Company, Mr. Shin Nagaosa â€“ President of M-TEC Co., Ltd of Japan (hereinafter
referred to as â€œMUGENâ€) - announces that MUGEN-prepared WTCC HONDA race engines
will be exclusively supplied to J.A.S. through 100% owned M-TEC UK subsidiary MUGEN
EURO Co., Ltd.
The Honda Accord Euro R racing car chassis has been developed by J.A.S. Motorsport and
is entered and run in the World Touring Car Championship by top Italian team N. Technology.
However, in order to make a further performance upgrade to the car being driven by
highly-experienced British Touring Car champion James Thompson, MUGEN has agreed to
take up the WTCC engine development work for the last two races of this season with
MUGEN EURO providing the circuit technical support to the team.
J.A.S.Motorsport is a successful competition car constructor with its headquarters in Arluno
near Milan in Italy and since 2007 has collaborated with great results with MUGEN EURO
concerning the new FIA Gr-R rally specification Honda Civic Type-R car, using engines
developed by MUGEN. Based on these and past achievements, MUGEN has had no
hesitation in enthusiastically agreeing to J.A.S.Motorsportâ€™s request to further deepen the
relationship and include the supply of WTCC gasoline engines.
MUGEN engines will be installed in James Thompsonâ€™s Honda Accord in time for the "FIA
WTCC Race of Japan" which is to take place on October 24th/26th 2008 at Okayama
International Circuit and also for the "FIA WTCC-Guia Race of Macau" being held from
November 13th/16th 2008 on the Macau (China) street course.

En hij heeft net een derde plaats gehaald.

Slechte start gehad maar terug gevochten van 9 naar 3. Prachtige race.

Ook tijdens race 1 heeft hij de snelste ronde gereden. 1.55.388

De tweede race is om 15u35

Die accord zit toch degelijk in elkaar. Ik zag tv beelden van de 1ste race en er werden onderling een paar flinke beuken uitgedeeld. Een 3de plaats is knap werk. Volgens mij is dit de eerste keer dat er een Honda op het podium komt dit seizoen in het wtcc.
Het rare is dat ik maar Ã©Ã©n Honda in het deelnemersveld heb gezien. Is dit een privÃ©team? Alle andere wagens worden gerund door professionele fabrieksteam en die hebben elk een hele vloot wagens ingezet.

In de UK rijden er een paar, lijkt me ook wel wat :wink:

Een CL7? Nou ik rij dus in een CL7 naast de CRX. Dat is gewoon de Accord die hier geleverd is, mijn kentekenbewijs geeft CL7 aan. Ik denk dat je een Euro-R bedoelt en dat is geloof ik een CL9.
