Brake disks.

Post by Kr0sTy »

I was wondering if anyone here knew if there is any difference between the Civic Type r and the Civic SI breaks(Yes EP3 model).

Ive found online at majestic Honda parts . com that the break disks for the SI is:
42510-s5t-e00
45251-s6m-000
But when I called Honda Holland, before checking here of course(yes I found it as a sticky) they told me that part nr for the front break disk was:
45251-S6M-A10

The part number is close, but I assume there is a difference between the two disks. Anyone that has any more info on this?

Also, anyone who knows if the Acura RSX type s might use the same break disks as the EP3R? The parts are seriously cheaper over "there" than here.

Thanks

Well after the initial post I found out that the Acura front brakdisk and the ctr front break disks have the same part nr. So now Im just searching for the part nr for the rear disks. Pisses me off that the guy at Honda NL SUCKED that much. If your willing to give me the part nr for the front ones, why cant you give me the nr from the rear ones?

Civic SI brakes have differences too. Pre facelift 02-03 is different than facelift 04-05.

Both discs have small differences in diameter of the disc.
Pre facelift SI 02-03 = 262mm and 4lug
facelift SI 04-05 = 261,5mm and 5lug

Civic Type R EP3 has 300mm discs 5lug.

And for your other question;

RSX Exc type S is the same as facelift SI 04-05 = 261,5mm and 5lug
RSX type S is the same as Civic Type R EP3 = 300mm discs 5lug.

I have good contacts with Brembo, so feel free to ask.

You are talking about the front disk size here right?

Do you know the size of the rear disks?

Thanks for the info though.

All front discs.

What do you need to know for the rears? Which car(s)?

RSX Type S has the same rear disks as the EP3, allthough I don't know the partnumber. I bought drilled rear disks from Stoptech for a RSX type S to fit my EP3.
